# Why isn't my site showing?

*My Website*

Almost every problem with a personal site is one of the following. Work down the list
in order.

## My address shows "Site not found"

Check, in this order:

1. **Have you claimed a handle?** No handle means no address. See
   [Claim your web address](claim-your-web-address).
2. **Is one of your sites marked Live?** Three drafts and nothing published leaves the
address with nothing to serve. Click **Publish** on the one you want.
3. **Did you take it offline?** The row will say **Publish** rather than **Take offline**.
4. **Did you change your handle?** The old address stops working immediately and
nothing forwards. Share the new one.
5. **Did you accidentally clear your handle?** Saving an empty box removes it and takes
a live site down with it. Claim it again.

## A particular page shows "Page not found"

Your site is live but that page hasn't been published. Publishing the *site* chooses
which site is public; publishing a *page* is a separate action in the editor.

Open the editor, go to the page, and click **Publish** in the top bar. Do it for every
page you've edited — it only ever publishes the page you're looking at.

## I published, but I still see the old version

1. **Wait about five minutes.** Published pages are cached for speed.
2. **Hard-refresh your own browser** — **Ctrl+Shift+R**, or **Cmd+Shift+R** on a Mac.
If colleagues can see the change and you can't, it's your browser.
3. **Check you published the right page.** A red Publish button with a dot means that
   page still has unpublished changes.

Adding `?anything` to the address does **not** force a fresh copy here, even though
that trick works elsewhere.

## I saved but nothing changed publicly

**Save** stores a private draft. **Publish** makes it public. See
[Publish your site](publish-your-site).

The exceptions are **Nav & footer**, **Site settings** and **SEO** — those go live the
moment you save them, with no publish step.

## A button on my page goes to the wrong site

If you typed a link like `/contact`, it points at your **community's** contact page,
not yours — your pages live under `/a/your-handle`.

Use the **page picker** in the link field and choose the page from the list instead of
typing a path. Menu links, the logo and listing cards are handled for you; hand-typed
paths are not.

## My listings section is empty

Set to **My listings** and you have none active, or set to **All community inventory**
and your community has none published. Also check whether **Limit to market centres**
has narrowed it to an empty area. See [Show your listings](show-your-listings).

## Contact-form messages aren't reaching me

They're not meant to yet — general contact-form messages go to your community's owners
and admins, not to your Leads Inbox. Property enquiries on **your own** listings do
reach you. See [Where your enquiries go](where-your-leads-go).

## Someone else's name is on my site

Older sites, created before this was fixed, kept the placeholder name from the starter
template. Open the editor, go to **Nav & footer**, and correct the brand text, tagline
and copyright line. Check the **About** and **Home** pages too — a placeholder
biography may still be sitting in the text.

## A slideshow or form doesn't work in the editor

It isn't broken. Interactive sections show a still first frame on the canvas and only
run on the real page. Use the **eye icon** preview.

## A button in the editor says "Unauthorized"

A few controls in the editor were built for community admins. **Re-host all external**
in the Assets panel is one of them. Upload the image directly instead.

## I can't create another site

You're at three, which is the limit, and there's no way to delete one yourself. Reuse
one of your drafts, or ask your community admin to clear a slot.

## The My Website link has vanished from my sidebar

Your community has switched the feature off. Note that **an already-published site
stays public** in this situation — if you need it taken down, ask your community admin.
