# Invite a member to your community

*Members*

### What you’ll learn

- Send an invite to a new member
- Choose the role they get
- Track pending and active members

There are two ways to bring someone into your community: invite them directly by email,
or send them the public onboarding form. Both are done from the admin panel and both
route the person into *your* community.

## Invite by email (the quick way)

1. Open the **Admin Panel** and go to **Members**.
2. Click **Add member**.
3. Enter the person's **email address**.
4. Choose their **role** — Agent for a regular member, or Manager/Admin if they'll
help run the community. (You can only grant roles below your own level.)
5. If your community uses **market centers**, pick the one(s) this member belongs to —
they'll see content scoped to those centers.
6. Click **Send invite**. They get a branded activation email on your community's own
domain; once they set a password they're an active member.

## Or send the onboarding form

For applicants you want to review before admitting:

1. From the member editor, use the **onboarding form link** (it's pre-tagged with your
   community).
2. Share it however you like — email, social, a QR code.
3. Submissions land in **Admin Panel → Onboarding** for you to review and approve.
Approving activates the applicant into your community.

## Good to know

- Invites **dedupe** onto existing accounts — inviting someone who already has a
CommunitySync login just adds your community to their account.
- Every invite is **audit-logged**, so you have a record of who was invited and when.

## Troubleshooting

### The member never got the email

Ask them to check spam, and confirm the address is spelled correctly. You can re-send
the invite from the member's row. Activation links are single-use — if they clicked an
old one, send a fresh invite.

### I can't assign the role I want

You can only grant roles **below your own tier**. If you need to make someone an Owner
or Admin above your level, ask a Community Owner or the platform operator.
